DAY 1

Arrive in Delhi

Arrive today at Delhi International Airport and meet your transfer to your hotel.

Today you have a free day to explore the city, or simply relax at the hotel after your long journey.

DAY 2

Delhi

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have the chance to explore Delhi.

Start with Old Delhi, the former center of Mughal power, which offers ancient monuments, narrow streets and bustling markets. Visit the Red Fort, built in 1648 by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, famous for his great edifice of love the Taj Mahal. Also see the biggest mosque in India, the Jama Masjid, constructed by Shah Jahan in 1658. Then visit Raj Ghat, the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. The heart of Old Delhi lies in the area around Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest market areas in India and certainly one of the busiest. Drive through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk to get a feel of the royal life of the Mughal emperors.

To explore this area fully would take days, but a great way to get around and experience the vibrant atmosphere and array of sounds and sights on display is by traditional cycle-rickshaw.

Then experience New Delhi. This extensive sightseeing tour of New Delhi will include a visit to the Humayun’s Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President’s Residence and will end with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave.

DAY 3

Delhi to Agra

After breakfast, meet your driver and travel to Agra. The ancient city once the capital of the Mughal empire in the 16th and 17th century, depicts a gorgeous panorama of majestic architectural creations and a rich tradition of art and culture. Agra houses one of Seven Wonders of the World, the marble symphony of Emperor Shah Jahan - “The Taj Mahal”. Discover the dazzling creations of their craftsmen in other architectural marvels in Agra, the quintessential Mughal City.

On arrival in Agra check in at your hotel.

Taj Mahal is an extravagant marble monument of love, built by Shah Jahan in 1653 as a memorial to his queen Mumtaz Mahal. This beautiful mausoleum in pure white marble took 22 years and 22000 craftsmen to build. Later, continue the tour to the Agra Fort, the original red sandstone fort built by Moghul Emperor Akbar in 1565. His son Jahangir completed the construction of the tomb in the year 1613.

DAY 4

Agra to Jaipur with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri

Early morning, visit Taj Mahal (Closed on Fridays ) at Sunrise. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan’s beloved wife. The Taj is at it’s most alluring in the relative quiet of early morning, shrouded in mists and bathed with a soft red glow. As it’s vast marble surfaces fall into shadow or reflect the sun, it’s colour changes, from soft grey and yellow to pearly cream and dazzling white; it’s well worth visiting at different times. This play of light is an important decorative device, symbolically implying the presence of Allah, who is never represented in anthropomorphic form.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Jaipur, en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri. On arrival in Jaipur check in to the hotel and spend the night at your leisure.

DAY 5

Jaipur

In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, visit Ambers Fort and enjoy flawless beauty of the Fort royally with an Elephant or by car.

AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. It’s construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. It’s forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it’s ultimate expression.

Today you’ll also visit the Jal Mahal. Jal Mahal is a palace located in the middle of the serene Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city. A paved way leads to the palace, which provides the stunning view of great surroundings and its architecture. The Lake was raised by constructing a dam between the hills by Sawai Man Singh II to cope up with the demand of water for the city.

The Jal Mahal palace is reflects the architectural beauty built in the Rajput and Mughal styles. The palace, built in red sandstone, is a five storied building expose only the top story, while other four are under water.

Later visit City Palace. A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.

Following the palace, you’ll visit Jantar Mantar. This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.

Moving on, you’ll stop at Hawa Mahal. The ornamental facade of this “Palace of Winds” is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five story structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women.

To finish off the day you will have a walking tour of the old city and local markets with your guide to get a deeper insight on the culture and lifestyle before heading back to the hotel for the night.

DAY 6

Jaipur to Mumbai

After breakfast at the hotel this morning head to the airport for your flight to Mumbai!

Upon arrival, meet your transfer at the airport, check in to your hotel and take the rest of the day to explore on your own!

DAY 7

Mumbai

After Morning breakfast Visit Gateway of India, Mumbai’s principle landmark. This arch of yellow basalt was erected on the waterfront in 1924 to commemorate King George V’s visit to Mumbai in 1911. Drive pass the Secretariat of Maharashtra Government and along the Marine Drive which is fondly known as the ‘Queen’s Necklace’. Visit Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his visits to Mumbai. Drive past the Victoria Terminus, the principal railways station of Mumbai, a beautiful building that symbolise the ethos of the Edwardian architecture, well worth a photo stop. At the Church gate station see the Dabbawala’s- a unique tiffin delivery service run by over 5000 semiskilled workers of delivering lunch to corporate executives from their homes. Visit the ‘Dhobi Ghat’, an open laundry where Mumbai’s ‘dirties’ are scrubbed, bashed, dyed and hung out to dry - a nice photography stop well worth a visit. Visit the ISKON Temple devoted to Lord Krishna in time for the noon aarti and then continue to the colourful Crawford market and Flora fountain a large bustling square, in the heart of the city. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 8

Mumbai to Goa

After breakfast, depart for the Mumbai airport to board your flight to Goa. Upon arrival at Goa, your transfer will bring you to the hotel to check in.

The rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 9-11

Goa

Breakfast is included each morning at the hotel.

Enjoy your time in Goa to relax in the sunshine or explore! The choice is yours.

 

DAY 12

Goa to Delhi

After one last breakfast at your hotel, meet your transfer to head to the airport.

Your flight from Goa to Delhi will end your journey.
