DAY 1 - Rome

Welcome to Rome, Italy’s historic capital city!

Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel then discover Rome at your leisure. Walk to the famous Trevi Fountain and take part in the tradition of throwing a coin over your shoulder. Throwing one coin is said to ensure your return to Rome, two thrown ensures romance with a Roman, and three coins thrown ensures the marriage with him or her!

After sealing your fate with the coin toss, visit a local eatery for some delicious pasta or pizza.

DAY 2 - Rome

Immerse yourself in the city today at your own pace with your 48-hour hop-on hop-off ticket.

Rome has a bounty of things to see and the mix of its architecture is testament to its past; Roman ruins, baroque squares and Renaissance gardens combine to give the city its enticing edge. Stay onboard with the audio commentary or disembark at any of the stops to explore on your own.

See the Colosseum where gory gladiatorial battles once took place, and have your camera ready for Piazza Venezia, home to the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument or stretch your legs and walk through Vatican City.

DAY 3 - Rome

Experience Rome’s historic icon to the fullest today with your Colosseum underground tour which includes access to the Underground Chambers – an area that is typically closed to the public and is only open to a select number of visitors daily. While you walk through the underground tunnels, chambers, and pits, listen to stories about the wild animals who were held down here and enjoy the panoramic view while standing where the Roman gladiators prepared for their battles.

Upon exiting the Colosseum, walk with your guide over to the Roman Forum, once the political heart of the city. Take in the sprawl of ancient ruins, and walk up Palatine Hill, once home to Ancient Rome’s wealthy residents, for a view of Circus Maximus, where chariot races took place. Your tour ends on Via Sacra, the main street of Ancient Rome that links the Colosseum to Capitoline Hill.

DAY 4 - Sorrento

Today you’ll leave historic Rome behind and travel to the coastal town of Sorrento!

Board your train to Naples then meet your private transfer to Sorrento. Take the rest of the day at leisure. Wander through Piazzo Tasso, stop for lunch, and sample delicious Limoncello made from the finest lemons grown in Sorrento and Amalfi.

DAY 5 - Sorrento

A free day in Sorrento!

Visit the Church of the Servants of Mary, the Piazza Sant’ Antonino and the Basilica, the Museum of Marquetry, Sorento’s Old Town, or take the Bus to Capo di Sorrento and visit the Baths of the Queen Giovanna. Stop by the Apreda delicatessen at 27 in Via Torquato Rate and try the Treccia – a locally produced braided cheese!

DAY 6 - Sorrento & Capri

Discover the alluring island of Capri on a full-day small-group boat tour departing from Sorrento. Cruise around the island to soak up views of unique coastal formations like the Blue and Green Grottoes and the famed Faraglioni rocks.

The Green Grotto is one of a series of beautiful caves around Capri’s coastal areas, known locally as the Grotta Verde. The water around the cave gives off a beautiful green colour, an effect caused by the reflection of the light. The Blue Grotto is the most famous sight on Capri, where visitors from around the world form long queues to get a peek inside for just a few magical moments. This natural cavern is 25 meters wide and 60 meters long, with a tiny entrance less than a meter high. To enter, visitors lay back in wooden rowboats and glide through the low cave mouth. Once inside, the boats bob in the dark, suspended on the surface of water so blue that it seems dream-like.

Following the caves, spend free time exploring Capri’s old town where you can stroll around Piazza Umberto I and wander ancient cobblestone streets.

DAY 7 - Sorrento & Pompeii

Discover the majestic and tragic history of Pompeii on a full-day tour from Sorrento.

Visit the fascinating archaeological site, where an entire city was preserved by ash and lava after a devastating volcanic eruption in AD 79. See excavated temples, homes, baths, and marketplaces on a guided tour, and then drive up the peak of nearby Mount Vesuvius for an up-close glimpse of the origins of the disaster. Hike to the crater’s edge if energy is on your side and enjoy stunning panoramic views of Pompeii from the summit.

DAY 8 - Sorrento & Positano

Spend today in one of Italy’s most popular destinations: Positano!

Take a ferry, taxi, or bus and see firsthand why millions of visitors a year descend on this charming town on the Amalfi Coast. Breathtaking views, world-class restaurants, an abundance of charm, and historic sites! Discover this coastal cliffside gem on your own leisurely schedule!

DAY 9 - Sorrento & The Path of Gods

Discover the stunning Amalfi Coast today on a small group guided hike of the Path of the Gods!

Walking high above the sea level, follow rocky footpaths that hug the cliffs, enjoying sweeping views of the mountains, Mediterranean countryside, and the UNESCO-listed coastline below. The half-day experience includes round-trip transport from Sorrento, the guided hike between Bomerano and Nocelle, and impressive views aplenty. Don’t forget your hiking shoes, sunscreen, water and camera!

DAY 10 - Sorrento

Learn to prepare traditional Italian dishes from a professional chef in a four-hour cooking class.

Choose from two convenient start times, depending on your schedule. Prepare fresh pasta, a main course, and dessert during the hands-on culinary experience. Enjoy your three-course creation with complimentary prosecco, wine, or limoncello.
